 Great boot at great price!

First off all, I want to say that I needed a more formal boot to wear with grey and navy trousers, in the winter. I decided for these boots after they had a 53%discount, living in Portugal, it’s the only way to buy american shoes, since the customs and shipping make them more expensive than similar British shoes. After I received the package I examined both boots and found no significant defects, I must say that they are well built, fully leather lined and the uppers are just like the other Allen-Edmonds shoe I have, a more stiff leather but not uncomfortable.
My biggest fear was in the fitting, since D fitting is narrow, I ordered E fitting (is the only available one), after trying them I found that the E(wide) fitting is similar to British F(medium) fitting, I compared them with a pair of Loake Burford boots in the Last 024, that I have, and I must say that the width is basically the same, although the Bayfield are a little bit shorter in the front, they are more roomy on the toes area, excellent indeed! For a small warning, the 6.5 american is equivalent to the 6 UK. In what style is concerned, I didn’t found them massive or bulky like other boots, but a true dress boot, they are more than adequate for more formal trousers, since they have a nice round toe, the welt is very well trimmed, and the rubber sole is discreat. The laces that came with them were not the ones on the picture but thinner and waxed, I found them better suited. For conclusion, this is a product that came at a great price and I hope to wear for many years.

Very comfortable boot

I purchased the brown Bayfield boot last November and have worn them over 20 times by now. They are very comfortable for all day wear and the eyelets make them easy to take on and off. I’m considering buying a 2nd pair in black.

It gets better with age

I bought a pair in black 25 years ago and they are my most favorite shoes ever. When I saw these I didn’t think twice, especially the price on Amazon! My old boots got better with age. The leather gets perfectly soft over time. The brown boots looks GREAT. It fit perfect and workmanship is amazing. One thing I did was to have the wood and lug sole repaced with vibrim sole. It’s the most comfortable shoes I have next to my running shoes.
