 One Word BEAUTIFUL

I am not talking aesthetics here. BEAUTIFUL is the word for this shoe!!!! When I first received the shoes and tried them on I was skeptical as they were very tough and rigid when walking around. The first thing I can say is that these shoes are not made for walking!!! The uppers were a bit tight around my foot when I put on my running socks (Thorlo) but you could not feel any seems or fusion points within the shoe. The rear achilles and heel support is very tough and felt as though they might cause trouble during the run, i.e. blisters. As I started a 10 mile run, distance determined to be enough to thoroughly try out the shoes but not cause any injuries if something were wrong, I immediately felt the push off of the wave plate and it felt great!!! The tightness of the achilles and heel area disappeared as my running form took shape and I had no worries about blisters. I am a heavy heel striker and these shoes provided more than enough cushion for my feet!!! The only thing I would recommend is that you probably want to go a full size larger on these shoes as they run smaller than other Mizunos. Overall I would rate these shoes a 9.5 out of 10 with the biggest downfall being the price but for me a great investment and I would buy them all over again!!!!!

For runners prone to injuries

Had 3-4 incidence of severe achilles tendonitis in the past so I’m constantly looking for shoes with maximum cushioning and stability. I know that these shoes serve the heel-striker well, but being a mid-foot striker I figured the full length wave plate will also accomodate the mid-foot striker. I own several running shoes including Nike, Saucony, Asics, Brooks, among others but the Mizuno Wave Prophecy provided something the others could not- almost complete prevention of foot/ankle pain and discomfort. My other running shoes are great but usually after the 8th or 9th mile, I start to feel the pain/discomfort from the constant pounding and usually slows down after that. However with the Mizuno WP, after the 9th mile, I actually did not feel any foot/ankle pain or discomfort. In fact, I increased my speed and beat my personal record by 10 mins (12-mile run). I’m definitely looking forward to run on these during the actual marathon run.

One Of The Very Best

I’ve been through a lot of sport shoes. I do a lot of gym work and a lot of sprinting. Previously my benchmark was the Asics Gel Kayano, it’s a great runner. Before buying my latest pair, though, I decided to try a few different brands, and this caught my eye. At first I was cynical, thinking it was going to be all show no go. I got a shock when I put them on though! They are much more supportive for slight under-pronators like myself than Kayano’s, in fact I’d rate them as one of the most stable running shoes I’ve ever tried. Shock absorption is very impressive, they are light, feel like you are not even wearing shoes, feel fast and are fast. If you take training seriously its worth the money.
